Parliament session may be curtailed if disruption continued: Dasmu

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Describing the disruption in Parliamentary proceedings as ''unfortunate, unethical and undemocratic,'' Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi today threatened to curtail the Budget session if the disruptions continued tomorrow also.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Dasmunsi said though no final decision has been taken, the Business Advisory Committee decided to see the progress of both the Houses tomorrow and may consider whether Parliament could be adjourned sine die before its scheduled time, May 22.

Charging the Telugu Desam Party with deliberately disrupting the house on the day when the Congress led UPA Government completed three years in office, he said that it was '' unfortunate, unethical and undemocratic,'' forcing Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to express his deep anguish.

Moreover, Parliament was to hold a discussion on the important issue of harmonious understanding between Executive, Judiciary and Legislature and two very important bills were also listed today which could not be held, he pointed out.

Besides, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu deliberately chose today to hold farmers protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar and his party MPs disrupted proceedings by shouting slogans and going to the well of the House so that all the programmes planned by Congress MPs could not be held.

Pointing out that Parliament was scheduled to hold a crucial discussion on Price Rise tomorrow, Mr Dasmunsi urged all parties to cooperate in running both the Houses smoothly so that Finance Minister could reply on the issue as agreed by all parties.

He said that after seeing the progress of the House, the BAC would consult all parties and then may decide on ''preponing'' adjournment of the Budget Session from May 22 if the things did not go smoothly.
