Minor skirmish at a marriage procession in Vadodara

Vadodara, May 14 (UNI) An altercation broke out between two groups in Kumbarwada area of the city, leading to people from a particular community pelting stones and setting off firecrackers at a marriage procession.

The incident occurred last night at about 2300 hrs when a marriage procession was passing through the area with beating of drums. A group of residents objected and began throwing stones and firecrackers at the procession. The police immediately rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control, police said today.

On Saturday night, a similar incident had occurred, when members of two marriage processions resorted to stone pelting at each other over who would have right of way at the Panigate area here.
