New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) After a pleasant weekend in Delhi, which saw the Capital experience temperatures three degrees below normal, it was a return to hot weather with the mercury rising to 38.6 Degree Celsius.

Though the maximum temperature of 38.6 Degree C was still two degrees below normal, the rise in mercury, from 37.5 Degree C yesterday, neverthless led to a slight abatement of cool weather witnessed in Delhi over the past couple of days.

The cool climes could, however, be back during the rest of the week with the weathermen forecasting fresh duststorms or thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms or squalls in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India during the next three days under the influence of an approaching Western disturbance.

The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the possibility of duststorms or thunderstorms in some areas.

They have also forecast a drop in maximum temperature to 38 degrees C tomorrow and 35 degrees C on Friday.

Heavy showers and a squall on Friday night cooled down the Capital by bringing the mercury down by 14 degrees Celsius.

On subsequent days too, the maximum temperature remained at 38 degrees C, two degrees below normal.

Weathermen have attributed a turnaround in weather in Delhi during May, from the scorching hot conditions in April, to a series of upper air cyclonic storms that has caused showers in Delhi over the last week and set off strong South easterly winds to cool down Delhi.
