Mann held with supporters

Jalandhar, May 14 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjeet Singh Mann was today arrested along with nearly 20 other supporters for protesting against installation of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh's statue here.

Superintendent of Police Satinder Singh told UNI that Mann was rounded up along with newly formed Shiromani Akali Dal (Zaffarwal) president Wasan Singh Zaffarwal and nearly 20 other supporters were arrested under preventive measures.

Earlier, Mann and his supporters put around the statue of Beant Singh a garland, made of posters of his assassin Dilawar Singh, at the busy BMC Chowk here.
