Hospital for spastic children
Chandigarh, May 14 (UNI) A speciality hospital for spastic children would be set up at Panchkula in Haryana with a focus on treatment of cerebral palsy.
The ambitious Rs 11.86 project for setting up the proposed hospital was approved by the Executive Committee of the Haryana Saket Council which met here today under the Chairmanship of Haryana Governor A R Kidwai, who is president of the Council.
The Governor also stressed the need for setting up a physiotherapy training centre in the institute as with the growing population the need for physiotherapist was increasing.
He said with the change in living style and inreasing old age population, the demand for physiotherapist was increasing in the society.
The Governor appreciated the working of Haryana Saket Council which was benefiting the physically handicapped persons in this region and directed that its status quo be maintained.
Dr Kidwai gave prizes to the good workers of the Saket Hospital and aids and appliances to the physically handicapped.
