Goods train derailed

Gwalior, May 14 (UNI) Movement of trains on both Up and Down lines remained disrupted on Jhansi-Gwalior section of North Central Railway following derailment of about 12 coal-laden wagons of a goods train near Datia station in Madhya Pradesh this morning.

The wagons, carrying coal from Chirimiri to Swaroopnagar, derailed on Down track around 0645 hours and coal spread on the Up track also paralysing train movement, railway sources said.

There was no casualty in the accident, though the tracks were damaged, the sources said, adding normal traffic could be restored in 8 to 10 hours. Several trains plying on Delhi-Chennai and Delhi-Mumbai routes have been diverted on other routes following the derailment.

A relief train from Jhansi had already reached the spot to restore the track, the sources added.
