Farmer arrested for possessing explosive materials

Coimbatore, May 14 (UNI) The State Q Branch police today sized explosive materials from a house of a farmer at Periayavalavadi, near Udumalpet, in Coimbatore district and arrested him.

Police sources said the farmer, Chinnasamy (41), was found in possession of 956 gelatin sticks and 551 detonators without a licence at his farm house.

Police registered a case for illegal possession of explosives against the farmer.

He was remanded in judicial custody, the sources added.
