Cyclonic storm 'Akash' to intensify further

Vijayawada, May 14 (UNI) The severe cyclonic storm 'Akash' lay centered at about 600 km south east of Kolkata this afternoon.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-north easterly direction and cross South Bangladesh and adjoining North Arakan (Burma) coast by tomorrow afternoon, a Met official told UNI.

Under its influence, widespread isolated heavy to very heavy rains were likely during the next 24 hours over north eastern states of Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Assam.
