Cash, gold futures rise, platinum awaits JM report
SINGAPORE, May 14 (Reuters) - Gold rose on Monday on the back of a weaker dollar, while platinum dropped as dealers awaited the release of a supply and demand report by refiner Johnson Matthey .
-- Spot gold rose to $672.40/673.70 an ounce from $670.60/671.10 late in New York on Friday.
-- Key April 2008 gold futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange added 21 yen per gram to 2,624 yen to track a rebound in New York's COMEX market.
-- The euro inched up to $1.3539 . The dollar was under pressure after Friday's surprise decline in U.S. retail sales and benign core producer prices bolstered the view the economy was losing momentum.
-- Platinum fell to $1,324/1,329 an ounce from $1,328/1,333 in New York. Johnson Matthey was scheduled to release its Platinum 2007 Review at 1200 GMT on Monday.
-- Palladium rose to $364/369 an ounce from $361/365.
-- Silver fell to $13.17/13.21 an ounce from $13.20/13.25 late in New York.
