50 trains affected due to derailment
Gwalior, May 14 (UNI) At least 50 trains were affected following derailment of many coal-laden wagons of a goods train at Datia station near here on Jhansi-Agra route this morning, a railway spokesman said.
The Up track was expected to be restored for traffic by midnight tonight while the Down track would be repaired by tomorrow morning, a spokesman of the North Central Railway's Jhansi division said.
Many trains were diverted on other routes while few trains were deregulated at Jhansi and Gwalior stations, the spokesman said.
Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express and Jhansi-bound Taj Express were stopped at Gwalior, while Gwalior-bound Bundelkhand Express and Chhapra Express were stopped at Jhansi and returned to Allahabad and Chhapra respectively.
New Delhi-bound Kerala Express, Rajdhani and Utkal Express were diverted to Delhi via Kanpur and Agra, while Mangala Express, Samata Express and Punjab Mail were diverted via Bina, Guna and Gwalior route. New Delhi-bound Swarna Jayanti, Jhelum Express and Andaman Express were diverted on Bhopal-Nagda-Mathura route.
Mumbai-bound Punjab Mail is being diverted on Mathura-Kota- Nagda-Bhopal route, while Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti, Tamil Nadu Sampark Kranti and Nizamuddin-Yashwantpur Express were also being diverted on this route, the spokesman added.
About 200 passenger and goods trains ply on Jhansi-Gwalior section daily.
