27 dead in Gujarat bus fire
Anand, May 14 (UNI) At least 27 people were killed when a state transport CNG bus collided with an LPG tanker, near here, today.
The impact of the collision was so huge that four women working on a field nearby were also burnt to death. Three of them have been identified as Manjulaben, Pushpaben and Sunitaben while the fourth is yet to be identified.
Of the 23 bus passengers, including the driver and conductor, 21 were burnt alive. The incident occurred at 1745 hrs.
The bus immediately caught fire after colliding with the tanker and overturned. The LPG tanker was also destroyed in the fire.
A truck parked near the accident site also caught fire and was also burning fiercely.
Even after two hours the truck and tanker were still burning and fire-fighters were trying to douse the blaze.
The bus was on its way to Rameshra from Mehsana, in Vadodara district.
