Warrant of arrest against MLA and his wife

Buxar, May 13 (UNI) A local court has issued a warrant of arrest against independent MLA Dadan Singh alias Dadan Pahalwan and his wife Usha Yadav on charges of procuring fire-arms licence illegally.

Warrants were issued yesterday against the couple under the National Security Arms Act, Police here today said.

The case was registered following the recovery of two rifles from a vehicle, allegedly belonged to the MLA, at a place under Kuran Sarai police station area during the November 12, 2006 panchayat by-elections in the district.

During investigation it was revealed that the licenses of the seized rifles were procured on the basis of forged documents. A security guard and his associate were also arrested during the search of the vehicle.
