Unidentified people ransack OBCFDC Chairman's office in HP

Dharamshala, May 13 (UNI) A few unidentified persons forcibly entered the HP Other Backward Castes Financial and Development Corporation's office at Kangra and ransacked it late last night, district SP AK Yadav said today The persons barged into the corporation's office in old Kangra town, about 18 km from here, and injured the chowkidar, Nand Lal, besides damaging furniture in the office, he told UNI here.

Mr Yadav said a few of the persons have been as Sachin of Gaggal, Thhanda of Ichhi, Kaku alias Onkar of Baidi and Parveen of Rajol area of the district, while raids were on to arrest the culprits.

Raids have been conducted at various places, but no arrest have been made so far in the incident that occurred around 2200 hrs, he said.

He said a case has been registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 452 and section 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section three (damage to the public property) against people involved in the incident.

The district police chief said teams had been sent to various other places in search of the culprits.

He said persons who barged into the office were enquiring about corporation's Chairman Surinder Kaku, a sitting legislator from Kangra Vidhan Sabha segment, who had gone to Hamirpur along with his supporters to take part in the Congress rally there.

The chowkidar has told the police that the persons were armed and were allegedly using foul language for corporation's chairman, he added.
