Temperature drops further in Delhi to 37.5 degrees Celsius

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) As the cool South Easterly winds maintained their influence over Delhi, the maximum temperature today dropped further to 37.5 degrees Celsius, almost three degrees below normal, from yesterday's 38 degrees Celsius.

Delhiites experienced a pleasant Sunday morning as the mercury continued with its below normal trend of the past few days.

The national capital has been experiencing pleasant weather after heavy showers and a squall on Friday night which immediately brought down the mercury by 14 degrees Celsius.

The minimum also displayed a similar trend, settling at 24.7 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal.

The cool air in Delhi is likely to persist for few more days with the weatherman forecasting more thundersqualls over Delhi and other parts of Northwest India during the next 48 hours.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi in the next 24 hours with the likelihood of more rain and thundershowers accompanied by squall in some areas.

It has forecast a slight rise in maximum temperature to 38 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
