Teacher held for exposing children to adult films

Aizawl, May 13 (UNI) A government primary teacher in Lunglei district was arrested last week for showing adult movies to some of his students.

Police here today said acting on complaints, the teacher of Government Sairep Primary School was arrested and subsequently in police custody.

The incident came to light during an AIDS awareness programme, organised by the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP), the state's largest women body.

Moreover, the teacher more often than not absented himself from the school.

Village leaders had made several complaints against him to the Lunglei SDEO, but to no effect. He attended school only two times in April and no further.
