Sunny weather, no respite from rising humidity

Kolkata, May 13 (UNI) The rising mercury level was well felt by Kolkatans today as the bright sun rays poured in through last night's nippy weather.

Heat wave conditions continued to prevail in the city. The maximum temperatre was recorded at 36.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 25.9 degrees Celsius.

Sweat glands got no relief without swelting out as the maximum relative humidity was pegged at 88 per cent and the minimum relative humidity at 51 per cent.

Met office predicted partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development in some parts of the state.

The maximum temperature for the next 24-hour would be around 35 degrees Celsius.
