State achieves development in all sectors: Minister

Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Minister Aanam Ramanarayana Reddy said the state has achieved over all development in all sectors, including agriculture, industrial and IT during the last three years.

Addressing a press conference along with six other Ministers of the State he said state government had taken up several welfare schemes in the state without putting any tax burden on common people.

He ridiculed the 'chargesheet' released by oppostion TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, listing out various alleged irregularities committed by the state government during the last three years in the state.

Releasing the 'fact sheet' on the 36 developmental activities in the last three years taken up by the state government, the Minister alleged that the TDP President was making baseless allegations without verifying the facts.

He said the government was ready to discuss in the Assembly the development aspects and the misdeeds of the TDP governmnet during its nine-year rule, thereby bringing the real facts before the people.

He said the government, as promised during the elections, had provided free power supply to agriculture sector and given 23 lakh pump set connections and waived off farmers electricity arrears worth Rs 1,200 crore.

He said the government had taken up several measures for women empowerment in the state and provided loans worth Rs 3,418 crore to nearly 4.5 lakh SHGs with minimum interest. It had also decided to provide loans worth Rs 6,433 crore in the current financial year, he added.

He alleged that the SHGs during the TDP rule had paid high interests for the loans taken by them.

He said the state government had taken up 40 irrigation projects under 'Jalayagnam' to provide irrigation water to one crore acres of land with a cost of Rs one lakh crore.
