Son erases father's 27 year old record
Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) Akash, son of the world famous magician Jadugar Anand, today created a new world record by performing 'under water escape' in 15 seconds, breaking the previous record of 40 seconds set by his father in 1970.
A daring act of 'under water escape' was performed by Magician Akash at the Hussain Sagar lake located in the heart of the city. He was chained, handcuffed, locked and was sealed in a wodden box. The box was dropped in the water at a point of good depth in the lake.
Breaking all the tied up chains and handcuffs, Akash came out of the box and appeared on the surface of the water within 15 seconds.
Talking to newspersons here today, Mr Akash said ''I am very proud of my father who encounraged me in performing this adventurous feat and succeeded in creating new world record''.
This was the third under water escape being performed in the world. The first escape was performed by Harry Houdini in East River in New york in 1912. He took one minute to escape.
The second escape was performed by Jadugar Anand in 1970, escaping from the Narmada river at Jabalpur in a record time of 40 seconds, he added.
