Rajasthani student among 3 killed in Kashmir road accidents

Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) A girl student from Rajasthan was among the three people killed and as many wounded in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley since last evening, police said today.

A Gypsy hit and wounded Ms Durga, a BEd student and a resident of Rajasthan, near Kanispora in Baramulla area of north Kashmir last evening.

The wounded was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, from where she was referred to a Srinagar hospital.

However, she succumbed to injuries at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura. Police have registered a case and taken up investigations.

A truck hit and injured a woman, identified as Rehti, a resident of Awantipora, at Jawbrara Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway last night. The wounded was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to injuries.

A tipper truck hit and wounded seven-year-old Sajad Ahmad Ganie at Humhama near the Srinagar airport last evening.

The injured died on the way to a hospital, police said.

A motorcycle, driven by Feroz Ahmad Rather, hit and wounded Mubarak Ahmad Malik at Bijbehara. The Motorcyclist and his pillion Sameer Ahmad Bhat were also injured in the accident. The three were hospitalised.
