PDF committed to restoration of peace in J

Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Forum (PDF) chairman Hakim Muhammad Yaseen today said his party was committed for restoration of peace in trouble-torn Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a rally at Rawalpora in Beerwah, Hakim Yaseen said he would continue to persuade the twin agenda of the coalition government for peace and development in the state.

The people have suffered during the past 18 years of turmoil, which has caused irreparable damage to the state's economy, he said.

The state Transport Minister said time has now come for strengthening the pillars of democracy to ensure peace and progress.

The PDF chairman said it was the duty of all peace-loving people and political parties to strengthen the hands of present coalition government in making the dream come true.

Hakim Yaseen called upon the youth to come forward in a big way and get associated with development efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous state.

The youth could contribute toward political and economic development of the state in the emerging scenario, he added.

The Minister reiterated the coalition government's resolve to fulfill the commitment made under the Common Minimum Programme and said speedy and equitable development of all the regions of the state was on top of its agenda.

He said the government was fully aware about the unemployment problem being faced by the educated youth of the state. Efforts were on to provide job opportunities to the educated youth in the state, Hakim Yaseen added.

He said various projects and welfare schemes launched in the state during recent years were now yielding results and hoped that the fruits of prosperity would reach to even the remotest areas of the state.
