Mishap kills 8 in MP

Umaria, MP, May 13 (UNI) Eight people, including four women and a girl, were killed, and seven severely injured this evening, when a truck rammed the jeep carrying them at this district's Naurojabad, police today said.

The mob torched the lorry after the accident. Its driver was absconding. While five people died on the spot three of the victims succumbed in the hospital. The deceased were identified as Gudia (2), Rakesh Kol (22), Mayabai (35), Susheela Yadav (35), Jaikumari Mishra (50), Krampuri Bai (52), Gaya Vishwakarma (55) and the jeep driver Anand Mohan Mishra (35). The injured were hospitalised at Naurojabad.

The District Collector and Superintendent of Police left for the spot.
