CM Mayawati affects major police shake up

Lucknow, May 13: Newly-elected Chief Minister Mayawati today effectd a major police shake up by transferring 12 IG level officials.

An official spokesperson said here that Dilip Trivedi, so far attached to the DGP office as been posted as IG (Gorakhpur zone). K L Meena, who was so far IG (Gorakhpur zone), has been posted as IG (Meerut zone). Gurbachan Lal, who was IG (economic offences wing) has been posted as IG (Bareilly zone). IG (Bareilly) S C Yadav has been sent to Regional Traning College at Mirzapur.

Assistant to DGP A K D Dwivedi has been posted as IG (Kanpur zone), whereas the present incumbent at Kanpur Javid Ahmed has been posted as IG (Railways) in the state capital. IG (Human Rights) S N Singh has been posted as IG (Allahabad zone). A D Mishra, who was IG (Allahabad), has been sent to Inter-state Border Police Force (ISBPF) in the state capital.

A K Jain, so far IG (EOW), has been given the dual charge as IG (Lucknow zone) and the Special Task Force (STF). D S Singh, who was till now IG (Lucknow zone) has been sent as IG (Anti-Corruption Unit). IG (Railways) Alok Prasad has ben posted to the Crime Branch.

Similarly, Anti-Corruption Unit's IG Rizwan Ahmed has been posted as IG (Human Rights).
