JK: Live mortar shell found from open field

Srinagar, May 13: Farmers in a village of Kupwara district in south Kashmir were taken by a surprise after they found a live mortar shell in an open field, police said today.

They said the mortar shell was found by the farmers at Telgam Payeen in Kupwara district while they were busy ploughing land and handed it over to the police.

The shell was later destroyed by the bomb disposal squad of the police.
