Kids, monks to stop powr theft
Morena, MP, May 13 (UNI) Help would be sought from schoolchildren and godmen for realising electricity dues and stopping power theft in this district.
''Monks will issue a clarion call against such theft and urge people to pay up. Various schools will be approached twice a month and students urged to guide their guardians on these issues,'' Executive Engineer R K S Rathore, posted at the Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company's local office, told UNI.
Such campaigns were initiated against female foeticide.
''The district's dues are a whopping Rs 1,92,83,00,000 and the rural component is Rs 1,32,33,00,000. The monthly consumption amounts to Rs 4.5 crore but only 42 per cent bills are realised,'' said Mr Rathore.
