Khaitan Electricals launches pressure cookers

Ahmedabad, May 13 (UNI) Khaitan Electricals today announced diversification of its product range by launching Khaitan Urja pressure cookers.

The launch would be in two categories -- aluminium outerlid and stainless steel outerlid.

The cookers sport special features which are not available with other brands, Company West Zone regional manager (appliances) Girish Kakkad claimed while announcing the launch.

The Company has grossed sales over Rs 300 crore in the last financial year and expects to achieve Rs 500 crore in the next two years. ''We would like to touch the Rs 1000 crores mark by the end of this decade,'' Mr Kakkad said.

The cooker has been specially designed keeping in mind the specific attributes like fuel efficiency, and tastier, faster, hygienic and healthier cooking. It comes with a five-year guarantee and free maintenance, Mr Kakkad said.

The aluminium outer lid, made from virgin aluminium, contains a thicker base with anti-bulging properties. The product has stainless steel vent weight, non-fusible safety valve, equal thermal distribution system and a double locking system. ''It will entail faster cooking as it will takes 53 per cent less time to cook. The range has been priced between Rs 700 and Rs 1,320 depending on the kind of product purchased,'' he said.

The stainless steel outerlid contains the same features as the aluminium outer lid and can save fuel by its thermodynamic magnetic sandwich base compatible with hot plate. Its silicon gasket, ISI marked, 18/8 pure Salem stainless steel and a gasket release system also helps in fuel saving. It has been priced between Rs 1530 and Rs 2050 depending on the kind of product purchased along with one extra gasket, Mr Kakkad said.

All Khaitan Urja pressure cookers have unique double screw handle for extra tightness, a nonfusable spring loaded safety valve for virtually perpetual use and with a five years guarantee on the silicon gasket in steel cookers. There is also one year guarantee for nitrile gasket in aluminium cookers. Stainless steel weight in both types is first time in India, Mr Kakkad said.

Khaitan is also planning to launch cookers with inner lid by June of this year. ''As per the today's technology, Urja cookers can be said to be the ultimate cooker,'' Mr Kakkad said.
