Haryana to set up world class flower auction house
Chandigarh, May 13: The Haryana government is planning to set up a world class flower auction house near Delhi to provide the state farmers engaged in floriculture with efficient marketing facilities.
A six-member delegation headed by Haryana Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha visited ''Flora Holland,'' the world's largest flower auction house and met its Chairman G A Ravensbergen during the delegation's visit to Holland.
This company was being run by a Growers Cooperative.
Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board Chairman Shadi Lal Batra and Vice Chancellor, CCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, J C Katyal were the other members of the delegation.
Mr Chatha said Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (CCSHAU), Hisar and Wageningen University had also signed a letter of intent for cooperation and research leading to Doctorate Programme in areas of Biotechnology, Food Nutrition and Plant Breeding during the delegation's visit.
