Central offices in Kashmir: Soz to take up issue with PM
Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) Union Water Resources Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today said many central government offices have been closed in the Kashmir valley after the outbreak of militancy in 1989.
Concluding his three-day visit of Kupwara and Baramulla districts, he said some of these offices have since returned.
''But many were yet to return,'' the Union Minister added.
Prof Soz assured that he would soon take up the matter with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
During his visit, he toured several villages in Kupwara and Baramulla districts and addressed many public meetings at Gulgam, Drugmulla and Natnosa. He also announced irrigation schemes worth Rs three crore in these villages.
