BJP takes exception to CM's remarks on PIL mafia
Shimla, May 13 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh unit of the BJP has taken strong exception to Chief Minister Virbhadhra Singh's remarks on the presence of ''PIL mafia'' in the state and asked him to name those involved.
''The Chief Minister should be brave enough to come out in the open and clarify the issue once and for all, naming the person he is talking about,'' party's legal cell convenor Sandeep Kaushik said in a release here.
He said Mr Singh was trying to hide the weaknesses and the shortcomings of his government by referring to the presence of PIL mafia in the state time and again.
In his nine-point questionaire to the Chief Minister, he asked him to clarify as to what the PIL mafia is and where it was working? How many PILs have been filed by this mafia that has stayed appointments in government jobs and admissions and where? Who were the lawyers that have filed these? Mr Kaushik has asked the state government to explain how the mafia has stayed the appointments in government jobs and admissions as mentioned in his remarks on Friday.
He also questioned the government about cancellation of the appointment process for the posts of anganwari workers, forest guards, JBTs, male and female health workers on its own.
He asked the government to clarify whether the State Administrative Tribunal was the only forum to deal with service matters, including appointments and selections in government departments and whether PILs could be filled in it.
He also sought clarifications as to which PILs pending with the court had prevented the state government from appointing employees in various departments.
