30 villages in Raj yet to get drinking water supply

Jaipur, May 12 (UNI) As many as 30 villages and 1482 hamlets of Rajasthan were yet to be connected to drinking water supply schemes, as on April 1 this year.

According to a Public Health Engineering Department(PHED) document on status of drinking water schemes, two of these habitations were connected to drinking water supply till April 15 last and the remaining villages and hamlets would be connected with drinking water supply in next few years.

As many as 39723 of a total of 39753 villages(basis 2001 census) had been connected with drinking water schemes in the state, the document said.
