YObykes achieves landmark sales

Ahmedabad, May 12 (UNI) In less than a year since its nationwide launch, YObykes has achieved sales of more than 30,000 vehicles.

A company release here today said the company has set a target of 1.5 lack YObykes for the financial year 2007-08.

The unprecedented success of Yobikes is due to its extreme cost effectiveness, especially in an era of rising petrol prices as it runs 700 km at the cost of one litre petrol approximately, said Avinash Bhandari, Director (Operations) of Electrotherm India Ltd.

YObikes are battery operated two-wheelers that can be charged as easily as a mobile phone whereever electric power connection is available. Another thing is that one doestn't even require a license and registration to ride Yobikes, he said.
