Woman murdered for gain

Chennai, May 12 (UNI) A 52-year-old woman was found murdered at a flat at Anna Nagar in the city, today.

Police said the victim was identified as Tamilselvi, wife of Thangamani, working as Financial Controller in the DGP office.

The miscreants, knowing well that the woman was alone, gained entry into the house and stabbed her on the neck. They then fled with her mangalsutra, weighing five sovereigns.

On information, police rushed to the spot and removed the body for post-mortem.
