Velocity winds claims 16 lives

Sultanpur, May 12 (UNI) At least 16 persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents caused due to the strong winds here last night, police today said.

Sixteen people were reported dead from Musafirkhana, Sadar, Amethi and Lambhua of the disrtict, District Magistrate, Sanjay Kumar said.

Meanwhile, a woman and her three siblings were killed in a fire incident in Musafirkhana Tehsil area, when a roof hatched at them, while she was cooking. Wherein, domestic gas engulfed, gutting around 52 houses.

Several houses in Klai Khurd and Durga were also gutted.

In separate incidents, Rangbahadur Singh (45) in Amethi Tehsil , Gaurav (8) in Peevarpur village, Ram Lakhan in Karori village died, after tree and hoaders fell on them. Two others died in Gajhedi under Sultanpur and Kudvar district in similar incidents.

Meanwhile, District Administration has announced monetary help for the victims.
