Traders for regularising units existing till December 31, 2006

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The traders today demanded that the Centre regularise all commercial units existing in Delhi as on December 31, 2006 to provide relief from sealing.

A resolution in this regard was passed at a 'Vyapari Panchayat' held here under the aegis of the Confederation of All India Traders.

The traders also demanded a relocation policy prior to uprooting any trade and that till such time the traders be allowed to carry out commercial activities from their present locations.

The Panchayat, where traders from different parts of Delhi participated, also demanded that the government regularise already identified unauthorised colonies and that the village Abadi area be treated as part of the Lal Dora.

In another resolution, the traders demanded amendment in the list of pre-1962 colonies and addition of few other trades in 20 sq m category and extension of the professionals category.

The pachayat was also attended by several municipal councillors belonging to the trading community.
