Tiger poacher gets four year jail term
Alwar, May 12 (UNI) A lower court here has handed out four year jail term and a penalty of Rs 70,000 to notorious tiger poacher Kalya Bawariya after convicting him of killing a tigress from the Sariska wildlife sanctuary and selling its parts.
Kalya Bawariya who is accused of killing about 23 tigers from the sanctuary had surrendered to the police in Jaipur last February.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Chaudhary found him guilty under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act in the killing of a tigress from the sanctuary about three years ago from Talvrish valley under Balkund range and smuggling its skin and parts through a conduit.
