Sunny weather, rain in some parts

Kolkata, May 12 (UNI) Cool breeze coupled with smart showers in the wee hours of the day brought some relief to the sweat glued Kolkatans.

But, as the day progressed the hope of a downpour evaporated by the bright sun.

Yet another sunny day for Kolkata with maximum temperature recorded at 34.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. The minimum temperature was 22.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.

The maximum relative humidity was pegged at 91 per cent while the minimum was at 50 per cent.

Met office recorded 5.4 mm of rainfall in the city and suburbs.

Met officials predicted partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers late in the night in some areas of the state.

The maximum temperature for the next 24-hours is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius.
