Bangalore: Stray dogs maul boy to death
Bangalore, May 12: In a macabre incident, a four-year-old boy was mauled to death by stray dogs in Ramanagar, about 60 km from here.
Police said Yasin Khan was attending to nature's call when a pack of dogs attacked him yesterday.
It was stated that a mutton stall owner had thrown some waste meat at the nearby bush and the dogs were fighting with each other to grab their share.
Tense situation prevailed in the town for some time following the incident as protesters slammed municipal authorities for not taking enough steps to end stray dog menace and for lack of cleanliness.
Ramnagar town forms part of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's constituency. Town Municipal Commissioner Shivanna visited the spot and pacified the public by assuring that steps would be taken to maintain cleanliness in the town.
Since last two months this has been the third death due to dog bite in the state.
Earlier, two children were killed by stray dogs in Bangalore city.
