Sosamma Varghese laid to rest

Thumpamon, Kerala, May 12 (UNI) Sosamma Varghese, wife of UNI News Coordinator and Prasar Bharathi Director Board member George Varghese, who died here on Wednesday was laid to rest at the St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral today.

Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other political leaders including K V Thomas, P J Kurien, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and Adoor Prakash as well as Bishops, priests and Malankara Orthodox Church Secretary George Joseph and others turned up to console the bereaved family.

Wreaths were placed on behalf of UNI management and staff, Delhi Diocese of the Orthodox Church, Catholic Church, World Malayalee Council and other organisations.

Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius, Metropolitan of the Calcutta Diocese, Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of the Bombay Diocese, Kuriakose Mar Clemis, Metropolitan of the Sulthan Bathery Diocese and Philipose Mar Eusebius Metropolitan of the Thumpamon Diocese led the funeral service.
