Rs 7.4 cr Central grant to Kolhapur for tourism development
Kolhapur, May 12 (UNI) Maharashtra Tourism Minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil today informed the Centre has sanctioned Rs 7.4 crore to Kolhapur district for tourism development.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Mohite-Patil said the Centre has already disbursed Rs 5.63 crore while the remaining amount will become available soon.
Elaborating on the major tourism development plans in the district, the Minister said Rs 3.20 crore has been earmarked for the development of Panhala hill station in this district, Rs 2.24 crore has been earmarked for beautification of Kolhapur city, while Rs 1.13 crore would be spent for developing the Khidrapur Temple as a tourist point.
The Minister said the State Government has accorded priority to tourism development, particularly in Konkan where various projects have already commenced in this direction.
