Ram Lal Thakur (Cong) files papers for Hamirpur by-polls

Shimla, May 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur filed his nomination papers as the Congress candidate for the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency today.

Accompanied by state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, HPCC president Viplove Thakur and other Congress leaders, he handed over his nomination papers to Returning Officer for the constituency Rajneesh Kumar after the party's rally at Hamirpur.

Two other independents Subhash Kumar from Una district and Amin Chand from Hamirpur district have already filed their nomination papers, while the BJP's candidate from the seat P K Dhumal was expected to file his nomination papers on Monday.
