Punjab University student commits suicide

Chandigarh, May 12 (UNI) A postgraduate student of the Punjab University committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in the football ground in the campus here early today, police said.

The deceased was identified as Nar Gurinder Singh Brar, first year student of MA Fine Art. His body was recovered from the playground along with the weapon and a suicide note.

The body was handed over to his father after a post-mortem.

The suicide note did not mention anybody responsible for the crime, police said.
