Plane skids off runway, passengers safe

Visakhapatnam, May 12 (UNI) All the 73 passengers of a Paramount flight had a miraculous escape when the aircraft landed on the new runway under construction at Visakhapatnam airport here today.

Airport Traffic Controller C Pattabhi said the Hyderabad - Visakhapatnam flight landed on a runway, which was not yet commissioned, instead of the original runway.

The aircraft went out of control from the runway and crashed into bushes.

Sources said that the pilot got confused while landing.

All the 73 passengers, including two crew members, were safe, the sources added.
