Over 83 pc students pass XII science examinations in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, May 12 (UNI) A record 83.54 per cent students passed the 12th science stream examination, conducted by the Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board here.

''This year, 81 schools recorded 100 per cent results as compared to 79 schools last year,'' Board Chairman R K Pathak told reporters here while declaring the results.

Forty-two students figure in the state merit list as against 12 last year.

Khatri Vidita Vijay of Sheth R J J High School in Valsad has topped the examination with 95.40 per cent. Makwana Sanket Kumar from Shree Sardar Patel Vidyalaya Scientific Campus in Surendranagar has stood second with 93.80 per cent.

As many as 13,490 students have passed with distinction as against 12,509 students last year. The number of students who have secured first class is 12,197 as against last year's 9,963.
