ONGC CMD to visit Tripura on May 13

Agartala, May 12: A five-member delegation, led by Chairman-cum-Managing Director(CMD) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), R S Sharma, would visit Tripura tomorrow to review the ongoing exploration work and mega power project in the state.

ONGC Tripura Asset Manager R K Marya said today that the delegation would meet Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Governor D N Sahaya and Chief Secretary Sashi Prakash, besides ONGC officials in the state.

''This would be the first visit of the CMD to the state after assuming office last year. He would also visit the Jorhat and Sivsagar Assets on Monday,'' Mr Marya said.

The CMD would be accompanied by A K Baliyan(Director, HR), N K Mitra(Director, Officers), D K Pandey(Director, Expolration) and U N Bose(Director, Technology &Survey), Mr Marya informed.

He claimed that the ONGC had initiated a massive gas exploration project in the state and taken up the 750 MW thermal power project at Palatana in South Tripura, launched by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in October, 2005. It had dug 123 oil-wells in different locations of the state so far.
