One arrested for abducting businessman

Bhopal, May 12 (UNI) Police have arrested one person in connection with the abduction of a businessman from T T Nagar area here.

City Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh said one Aditya had been arrested in connection with the last night's incident.

Police were searching for other accused, he added.

Manish Sharma resident of Jhansi, who does business in Nehru Nagar area, was called by Sudeep Sadana, another businessman, for some business-related transaction at his shop in Jawahar Chowk at 2030 hrs last night.

Mr Sharma was beaten up at the shop. Later, he was taken by Sudeep, Aditya and three others to an abandoned area, where he was again thrashed.

Mr Sharma managed to escape from their clutches and reached police station. He was robbed of his mobile phone and Rs 5,000.

Police have registered cases of abduction, loot and beating up against the accused.

Mr Sharma was abducted because of business-related rivalry, police said.
