Nomination for C'garh Assembly bypoll

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, May 10 (UNI) One nomination was filed today for the Assembly byelection in Khairagarh in Chhattisgarh, the election office sources said.

Mr Kumbhlal Sahu filed the nomination as a BSP candidate. He is the first candidate to file his nomination for the June 2 by-poll.

Though the main political parties -- the BJP and the Congress -- had declared their candidates, no one had filed their nomination.

The byelection was caused due to the resignation by Congress leader Deovrat Singh on his election to the Lok Sabha from Rajnandgaon.
