Naidu flags off 'Babli Roko' express
Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today flagged off a special train to New Delhi to press for immediate intervention of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to stop the alleged illegal Babli project taken up by Maharashtra.
Over 3,000 party activists left by a special train on 'Sriramsagar Project Parirakshana Yatra' to stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar on May 14, asking Ms Gandhi to find a political solution to the issue with the Congress in power at the Centre, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
Enthusiastic party workers raised slogans, demanding immediate halting of the project by the upper riparian state.
Mr Naidu, who will leave for the national capital, will lead the protest in which farmers, MPs, MLAs, and local bodies representatives will take part.
