Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Prime convicts in the 1993 serial blasts case, the Memon brothers, today withdrew their bail plea, which they had moved on medical grounds, since the court on May 18 will pronounce the quantum of sentence to be awarded to them.

Making a statement before designated TADA Judge P D Kode, the Memon brothers -- Yakoob, Yusuf and Issa (brothers of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon), said as the court is all set to award them punishment, they do not want to press with the bail plea.

Earlier, Yakoob had told the court that he is suffering from neurological disorders, while Yusuf and Issa had said they were suffering from skin diseases and other ailments, and require treatment in a private hospital.

It may be recalled that the court had convicted the three for their involvement in the blast conspiracy which rocked the metropolice on March 12, 1993.

The prosecution has sought maximum punishment for the brothers -- from death penalty to life imprisonment.
