List of Punjab BJP office bearers released

Chandigarh, May 12 (UNI) Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajinder Bhandari released the list of party office bearers here today, stressing that ''team spirit''would be the guiding principle of the party.

The new team comprises five vice presidents, three general secretaries, five secretaries and a treasurer.

Releasing the list at a press conference here, Mr Bhandari said he had tried to inject a ''new blood'' in the party and also retained five previous office bearers to utilise their services for strengthening it. Representation has been given to Malwa, Doaba and Malwa regions in the newly appointed office bearers, he added.

He said introspection will be done within the party which will adopt value-based politics alongwith nationalism, democracy and secularism as its work culture.

Answering a question, Mr Bhandari said all round development and welfare of the people of Punjab was the agenda of the BJP state unit. Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is not the BJP's agenda, he said, adding ''law will take its own course against him''.

The office bearers are: Mr Vijay Sampla, Mr Vinod Sharma, Mr Surjit Jyani, Mr Manjit Singh Rai, Mrs Virender Kaur Thandi, all vice presidents, Mr Prashant Arora, Mr Ashwani Kumar, Mr Kamal Sharma, all general secretaries, Mr Anil Sarin, Mr Subhash Bhateja, Mr Rakesh Rathore, Mr Rakesh Gill, Mr Rajender Mohan Singh Chheena, all secretaries and Mr Bal Krishen Mittal, treasurer.
