JVV demands banning fish medicine for asthma
Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, May 12 (UNI) Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) Andhra Pradesh unit today strongly opposed the Government's decision to extend support to Battina brothers of Hyderabad, who distribute fish medicine for asthma patients in the state capital every year.
Addressing a press conference here, JVV publicity secretary TG V Rao and general secretary I Subba Rao said the Battina brothers were cheating the public by claiming to treat asthma with fish medicine.
The brothers have agreed before a court of law that they were not giving fish as medicine, but as 'prasadam'.
They said the JVV had proved that the fish contained no medicine and filed a case against the brothers in this regard. However, the brothers were claiming that the fish medicine not only cured asthma, but also cancer, which was contempt of court.
They demanded the State Government to immediately withdraw its cooperation to them, initiate necessary action against them and asked the brothers to reveal the ingredients of the fish medicine.
