Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) Ayaz Qazi, son of Jammu and Kashmir Forest Minister Qazi Muhmmad Afzal and wanted in an assault case, surrendered before Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal today.

Police had launched a massive hunt to nab Qazi after he allegedly assaulted senior officials of the Power Development Department (PDD) on Thursday.

Official sources said Ayaz, accompanied by his father, reached the Deputy Commissioners office this afternoon and surrendered.

Police Ganderbal had registered a FIR 64/07 against Ayaz under section 353 after senior PDD officials lodged a complaint that he assaulted them.
